It was there that she met and married the love of her life, the late Bishop Lloyd E. Swaringer, Sr., on May 15, 1951. To their loving union, eight children were born. The two of them were a powerful team that the Lord used mightily. On the first Sunday in March of 1954, she became the co-founder of the Greater Gethsemane Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.

She led many to Christ through her ministry in the church. A life lived as Mother Susanna Swaringer’s cannot die, but will live on in our hearts and memories forever.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
I Thessalonians 4:16, 17
